Thank you Cora for reminding me!! It would have just go on by.

Another month has just flown by. Where did it go? One month closer to our sweet cheeks baby cake coming home. We heard from our agency today that the families they had with LID of Feb.14th 2006 got their referrals! I can't wait to see some sweet little faces. Exciting times.

Look What Came In The Mail Today!

I ordered these adorable flannel blankets from Cora at Waiting For Little Miss What's Her Name . She has an Etsy shop now to help them raise money for their adoptions. Yes that is a plural there. They are waiting for their little girl from China and they are now doing a concurrent adoption from Burundi. So far no specifics whether it is a boy or a girl. We are just excited for them to start their family!

The blankets are precious! They are so cuddly soft and so cute. I am just thrilled! Thank you Cora for the adorable pillowcase too. I have Gabby's baby pillow that I will use it with.

FRUSTRATION!!!!!

On Monday we got our forms in the mail for renewing our fingerprints from USCIS! I was really excited. Opened them up and saw the date they gave us for our appts. Tuesday,Oct. 9th, 2008. I got to thinking and pondering about this date. Check the calendar and low and behold hubby is out of town that day! Can you believe it? When he wrote the letter he specifically put on there the dates we were unavailable.

UGGH.... Now I have to go thru the process of redoing the letter and hoping that they get it right this time. Such is life. Eventually we will be getting our little girl. Oh how I wish I could hug her right now and tell her how much I love her!

It is official. The CCAA is done reviewing families who were logged in before Feb. 28,2007. We are LID as of April 30,2007. Only 2 more months to go until we are out of the review room. Now this could take another 3-4 months. At least there is some progress though! Yipee!!!

Quotes For The Day.

Do just once what others say you can't do,
and you will never pay attention to their limitations again.
~~James R. Cook~~

Today Gabby surprised us with a couple of things. She is randomly coming up with conversations that have 12 word sentences, Laughing at jokes and funny things, and she ate an "everything" bagel with cream cheese! She has never done any of these things before. We are so proud of her and her many accomplishments.

May you continue to shoot for the moon Gabby as you will always be a star in our eyes!!

Finally an Update!

This is the cake that I made him for his birthday. I am not showing a close up as the writing is awful! Unlike my dear friend's cake which turned out so cute. Oh well. We all have talents in different area's.
Brent had a great birthday! I surprised him with a 42" HDTV! Boy was he excited. He got it set up and in time to watch the Seahawks loose!! Bummer. The game was so close too!

We got our I600 update sent off to CSIS office. Our home study update is to follow soon. Our I171 expires Sept. 21st. AAO was happy to see we had not dropped the ball. I am glad too!

I have been working on fall decorating projects here at home. I will be posting pictures on my other blog Jody's Cottage.

May We Always Remember 9/11/2001

Oh what a horrible day 7 years ago was. I was home from work that day as hubby's BD is the 12th and I was planning his party. I was on my way out the door to the gym and then going to run errands. I was watching the local morning news. Literally the world stopped as we watched the planes fly into the Towers, Pentagon, and in PA. I will never forget the sad images of people jumping from the buildings, the words of the husband to his wife from his cell phone and all the after math of people trying to help everyone. I prayed and hoped that my sister in law was okay and her boyfriend. We heard from her with in 3 hours. We did not hear from him for 8 hours.
His building was across the street from the Twin Towers.

I am so Thankful for our freedom! We are a strong country and we are recovering.
WE WILL NEVER FORGET......

The sun will rise tomorrow.

Bits n Pieces of Our Trip

Gabby playing at the beach. For those of you who do not know Gabby has Autism. She has never enjoyed playing on the sand let alone walking on it. I was just so amazed that she was able to sit on the towel and play with the sand toys. I am so very proud of her!!!

My sister and I at Pino Provence for Birthday Dinner. My mom took my sister and I out to celebrate my BD. Then we went to Chorus Line at the Newport Beach Performing Arts Center. Okay, I had no idea that Chorus Line was so sexual in content. It had a T&A song! I was shocked. All in all it was very fun though to have a girls night out with mom and my sis.

Flowers from my Birthday Dinner at BBC.

My parents planned this dinner party for my Birthday celebration. It was held in the private dinning room of the Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach. Unfortunately since it was for me I was not in charge of picture taking. Hubby was. I don't have any good pictures of family or friends. I will have to tell you about it. Of course DH and DD Gabby were present. My sister Jill and her husband were there. One of my niece's Tori made it. Then we had my Mom and Dad, Cousin Bill and his wife Zoe, and Rick my brother (not really but we grew up together) and his lovely wife Annie.

We all gathered and got to visit out on the terrace over looking the bay and watch the sunset. I have a picture of that!

Then we went into the private dinning room and were served this wonderful 5 course dinner. It was scrumptious and so much fun visiting with everyone. The topper of the evening was my sister's present. She made a collage of my younger years. It is so special!! I am going to hang it up in our hall way.

I have to admit that I really do miss being closer to my family. I really enjoy WA but, my parents are getting older and they are going to start needing me more. Thank goodness they are in really good health and they both drive. They have not slowed down yet!

IT's That Time of the Month!

16 MONTHS since LID!

WOW! Where did this month go? It was so busy and full of fun things. That was a fast month and did not drag on. That makes it so much easier.

We just got back in town today from visiting family and friends in Southern CA. We had a lovely time. Somehow it is always to short. I will post some pictures and journal about the trip soon.

Gabby starts back to school tomorrow. I am helping with the Welcome Tea at her school for the moms. Should be fun. Made some yummy Morning Glory Muffins and Chocolate and Banana Muffins to take.
