Vacation Time!!!
One of my favorite spots to see the sunset at the Newport Beach Pier
We leave tomorrow for CA to visit our families! I can not wait to get to the beach and play and soak up the sun! I will try to blog once or twice but, I can not make any promises.

A Very Warm Day!
Today was hot here in WA. It reached 90 on our weather station in the backyard.
I of course was working on a zillion projects the typical Friday cleaning, laundry, cooking. The dogs were wanting to be indoors and the cat wanted to be outdoors!
Gabby had a blast in the little pool trying to stay cool. Here are some pictures from today.

Updates from the CCAA
It is official. The CCAA has finished reviewing those dossiers logged in before Jan. 31, 2007. They have finished the placement of children with families with LID through Jan 31. 2006. Unfortunately the Chinese New Year is from Jan. 28-31. This means essentially they only did 2 days in the last month for placements. Talk about moving at a snails pace! Congratulations to those that did receive their referrals!

Have to post some adorable outfits!
Paula's creation!
Colleen's creation!
Adorable matching headband!
I have purchased several beautiful homemade outfits for our baby cake. the first 2 were thorough One Child At A Time. The first one was made by Paula. It is just so vibrant and fun. The second one was made by Colleen. It is just so sweet! She sent an extra something special that she is making . This adorable braided headband. Don't you love it?!
Daleea's precious outfit!
The last outfit is from my friend Daleea. She has her own boutique called Lady Peep Boutique. It is to die for with these adorable little sand dollar buttons and starfish button with the sweet blue ribbons. All of these are one of a kind creations. Made with love to help raise money for Starfish children. See my sidebar for donations. Just love the cause and the beautiful ladies that are giving so much of their talents to help this precious children receive the surgeries and care that they need.

In Total Amazment
Well, I watched the open ceremonies for the Olympics last night. What an amazing show. I could not believe the beauty of it all. I became incredibly sad and started crying . My emotions overwhelmed me as I thought about the time. When we were just starting out in this adoption journey we had the hopes of bringing our sweet cheeks baby cake home around this time of year. We talked about if we would be going before or after the games.
I was thinking about all of the parents that were in the same boat as we are, those that have pulled out, those waiting now 29 months, those that have decided not to pursue adoption at all and those that have pursued adopting from a different country or domestically. My heart was literally breaking and I had to turn off the TV. Now for me that is just not done for the Olympics. I am one that will watch everything that I can on it. I cheer for the USA, for the hosting country, and I cheer for the little countries.

I am so over the moon with happiness
What a beautiful day in blog land. Thank you to my new found friend Daleea for such a absolutely gorgeous make over of my blog. The title is the original one that I started out with over 15 months ago. Daleea is an amazing woman with so many wonderful creative idea's. This blog is so me in all aspects. A girly girl down to the core. I love romantic and lovely things and she captured all that and so much more (Sorry for the run on sentences)! I love it Daleea!!! Thank you so very much!

Today starts the process all over again
Well, today I finally got the renewal packet from AAO for our 171-H form. Thank goodness we just have to make copies initially. I can get everything done before we leave for CA. Next step will be to get it in the mail before Aug 19th when we leave. When I talked with our agency they will notify our SW we need a homestudy update. I will email her today also. Will make MD appt for when we return. As long as the main paper work is in before Sept. 19th and then we send in the homestudy part later we are okay. Why is it I always work best under a deadline? Scary thought!
:) Jody
PS: Don't you just love this picture of all the adorable shoes?

A Mother's Love
She left you one morning,
She had no choice.
In a country of millions
She had just one voice.
The law made it clear
One child would do.
To obey it would mean
No hope for you.
As she laid you down
Her eyes became blurried.
On saying goodbye
Said don't you worry.
Another will come
To take my place.
A mother will come
From a different race.
She'll hold you and love you
As if you're her own.
She'll take you away
To a brand new home.
She then ran away
Her heart broke in two.
Don't ever forget
Of my love for you.

Steven Curtis Chapman
FYI Steven Curtis Chapman and family will be talking tomorrow with Robin Roberts on Good Morning America during the 8 am hour about the loss of their daughter. They will also appear live with Larry King on Aug. 7th.
I will be watching this. My heart goes out to them as they deal with this publicly.

Tiny Hands
Tiny hands and tousled heads
That kneel in prayer by little beds
Are closer to the dear Lord's heart
And of His kingdom more a part
Than we who search and never find
The answers to our questioning minds~
For faith in things we cannot see
Requires a child's simplicity.

A Birthday Surprise
On Tuesdays my daughter and I go to a friends house to have facilitated play date. This last Tuesday my girlfriends Amy and Erin were going to take me out for my Birthday. We went to the Purple Sage Cafe in Woodinville and surprise there were 2 other of my girlfriends there Konnie and Andrea. We had the best time just catching up and celebrating the Big 50. Another friend Casey was unable to make it do to no child care. She made me the most delicious chocolate with raspberry filling cake with a fondant icing. It was just so pretty and delicate. Unfortunately no one had a camera.
I did take a picture once I got home of the beautiful bouquet that Amy put together from her garden. Just look at those roses, bachelor buttons and hydrangea's. She left to go back East for 3 weeks and told me to go over to her house to cut flowers.I am so excited! I can't wait to go cutting. My garden is pretty new and the plants are young. Therefore I just cut a few things for vases in the house.
Anyway, I just had to share what wonderful friends I have. They have been extremely supportive and understanding with this whole adoption thing.
