What a busy but fun day we had! Our apple tree was just starting to drop some of it's apples so we thought we had better pick them! I think we picked about 50 apples and we still have half of the tree covered in apples. I have no idea what kind of apples they are but they are sweet and good for baking. We have a bunny that likes to frequent our yard and munch on the garden. He loves the fallen apples and the cabbage. I have tried to take a picture of him, but he is fast.
First thing I made was a batch of applesauce and its all ready to store for the season.
The last thing I made was an Apple Pie! Of course we will have it A La Mode !
Boy did the house smell fragrant and good! I think tomorrow I will make an apple cake if I can find my bundt pan.
Enjoy the fall season!

This post reminds me so much of my childhood. We used to pick apples every fall and make apple sauce, apple butter, apple pie filling (for apple pies and turn-overs, of course!!) ...you name it, we canned it! :) I can almost smell the sweet fragrance now!!
YUM!!!
