May We Always Remember 9/11/2001

Oh what a horrible day 7 years ago was. I was home from work that day as hubby's BD is the 12th and I was planning his party. I was on my way out the door to the gym and then going to run errands. I was watching the local morning news. Literally the world stopped as we watched the planes fly into the Towers, Pentagon, and in PA. I will never forget the sad images of people jumping from the buildings, the words of the husband to his wife from his cell phone and all the after math of people trying to help everyone. I prayed and hoped that my sister in law was okay and her boyfriend. We heard from her with in 3 hours. We did not hear from him for 8 hours.
His building was across the street from the Twin Towers.

I am so Thankful for our freedom! We are a strong country and we are recovering.
WE WILL NEVER FORGET......

The sun will rise tomorrow.

Bits n Pieces of Our Trip

Gabby playing at the beach. For those of you who do not know Gabby has Autism. She has never enjoyed playing on the sand let alone walking on it. I was just so amazed that she was able to sit on the towel and play with the sand toys. I am so very proud of her!!!

My sister and I at Pino Provence for Birthday Dinner. My mom took my sister and I out to celebrate my BD. Then we went to Chorus Line at the Newport Beach Performing Arts Center. Okay, I had no idea that Chorus Line was so sexual in content. It had a T&A song! I was shocked. All in all it was very fun though to have a girls night out with mom and my sis.

Gabby dancing in N&P's living room.

Gabby with Nanny and Papa (my parents).

Flowers from my Birthday Dinner at BBC.

My parents planned this dinner party for my Birthday celebration. It was held in the private dinning room of the Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach. Unfortunately since it was for me I was not in charge of picture taking. Hubby was. I don't have any good pictures of family or friends. I will have to tell you about it. Of course DH and DD Gabby were present. My sister Jill and her husband were there. One of my niece's Tori made it. Then we had my Mom and Dad, Cousin Bill and his wife Zoe, and Rick my brother (not really but we grew up together) and his lovely wife Annie.

We all gathered and got to visit out on the terrace over looking the bay and watch the sunset. I have a picture of that!

Then we went into the private dinning room and were served this wonderful 5 course dinner. It was scrumptious and so much fun visiting with everyone. The topper of the evening was my sister's present. She made a collage of my younger years. It is so special!! I am going to hang it up in our hall way.

I have to admit that I really do miss being closer to my family. I really enjoy WA but, my parents are getting older and they are going to start needing me more. Thank goodness they are in really good health and they both drive. They have not slowed down yet!

IT's That Time of the Month!

16 MONTHS since LID!

WOW! Where did this month go? It was so busy and full of fun things. That was a fast month and did not drag on. That makes it so much easier.

We just got back in town today from visiting family and friends in Southern CA. We had a lovely time. Somehow it is always to short. I will post some pictures and journal about the trip soon.

Gabby starts back to school tomorrow. I am helping with the Welcome Tea at her school for the moms. Should be fun. Made some yummy Morning Glory Muffins and Chocolate and Banana Muffins to take.

We leave tomorrow for CA to visit our families! I can not wait to get to the beach and play and soak up the sun! I will try to blog once or twice but, I can not make any promises.

A Very Warm Day!

Today was hot here in WA. It reached 90 on our weather station in the backyard.
I of course was working on a zillion projects the typical Friday cleaning, laundry, cooking. The dogs were wanting to be indoors and the cat wanted to be outdoors!
Gabby had a blast in the little pool trying to stay cool. Here are some pictures from today.

Gabby in the pool.

My cutie pie loves the water.

Love this one!

Updates from the CCAA

It is official. The CCAA has finished reviewing those dossiers logged in before Jan. 31, 2007. They have finished the placement of children with families with LID through Jan 31. 2006. Unfortunately the Chinese New Year is from Jan. 28-31. This means essentially they only did 2 days in the last month for placements. Talk about moving at a snails pace! Congratulations to those that did receive their referrals!

Have to post some adorable outfits!

Paula's creation!
Colleen's creation!
Adorable matching headband!

I have purchased several beautiful homemade outfits for our baby cake. the first 2 were thorough One Child At A Time. The first one was made by Paula. It is just so vibrant and fun. The second one was made by Colleen. It is just so sweet! She sent an extra something special that she is making . This adorable braided headband. Don't you love it?!

Daleea's precious outfit!

The last outfit is from my friend Daleea. She has her own boutique called Lady Peep Boutique. It is to die for with these adorable little sand dollar buttons and starfish button with the sweet blue ribbons. All of these are one of a kind creations. Made with love to help raise money for Starfish children. See my sidebar for donations. Just love the cause and the beautiful ladies that are giving so much of their talents to help this precious children receive the surgeries and care that they need.
